I AM sterdam.

Hi,

Finally a first blogupdate of 2014 about my second time in Amsterdam. Here you'll find pictures of my first visit. I went for 2 days and stayed one night at the Botel Anna Maria II. This is probably one of the smallest rooms I ever slept in but I didn't expect a huge cabin for only 22 euro's. (Not recommended for people with claustrophobia.) Breakfast was included and the location is great, between Central Station and Nemo.

I would have loved to visit the Van Gogh museum but what I didn't know is that most musea are too crowded on saturdays and sundays. I'll keep that in mind for next time. We were more lucky at the Kattenkabinet: A little museum at the Herengracht about cats in advertisement and art through the centuries. Check out my pictures below. (There's also a Piccasso and Rembrandt with a cat)

Then we walked a lot. Almost every area; Vondelpark, museum square, Jordaan, red light district, harbour, and chinatown. This is the best way to discover a city like Amsterdam.

Hope to see you next time (planning a trip to Berlin in summer, FINALLY).

Malta: Down to the waterline

Hi all

Because there can't be too many photographs of the waterside..

These were taken at Saint Julians, where we were staying. As you can see, the water is crystal clear and the sun was shining as it were a sunny day in July..

Enjoy!

Malta: Impression of Valetta

Hi all

It's been such a long time since Barcelona. In no-time my life turned into all-work-no-play, aka a full-time office job. As I mentioned before, I planned a trip to Amsterdam, (tickets were booked already) but somehow it didn't work out with my job. Suddenly the opportunity of going to Malta came along, before we (my boyfriend and I) knew, cheap tickets were booked (Ryanair; Eindhoven-Malta €30 p.p.) and off we'd go!

I had barely the time to inform myself about Malta. But by looking at some guidbooks at the airport I knew it was going to be great. Malta turned out to be a weird mixture between Italian-Arabic and British influences. (phone booths & pubs)

Valetta (Malta's capital) will be the Cultural Capital of Europe in 2018. It's Europe's smallest capital and very charming. The city has thousand little streets, great food (Local specialities Pastizzi and Piadina) and several must-see monuments. (Cathedral, fortress) And perfect to visit in one day. (we were only 4 days in Malta - no time to waste!)

Here you can see some impressions of Valetta, hope you like it!

More coming soon.
